In the realm of Christian rap, T-Strike's story mirrors the timeless narrative of the Prodigal Son. Once celebrated for his incredible talent and being signed with GOD OVER MONEY—a dream label for any aspiring Christian rapper—T-Strike seemed to be on the path leading to success. But as the story goes, even those who seem to have it all together in their personal walk with Christ can wander astray.

Feeling a calling from God, T-Strike made a bold decision to leave the label just before a major tour. Little did he know that this step would lead him down a path away from his faith, much like the Prodigal Son who ventured into the far away land, T-Strike eventually ventured away from the faith as he backslid and fully gave in to his flesh. As he chased fleeting pleasures and success, T-Strike found himself grappling with the weight of addiction, particularly with weed, and the temptations of lust for woman that came with the secular world.

In this candid interview, T-Strike reflects on his struggles, revealing a powerful highlight: he admitted to smoking weed while he was a Christian rapper, creating songs such as, "I Know I Know" which still resonates with listeners today. Many people have told him that his music delivered them through their most trying moments, illustrating the complexity of his journey. Even in his struggles living a double life, he was still able to be used as a vessel for the Lord and his art still touched lives, showing that God can use us even when we feel far from Him. A true testament to the grace and mercy God has for the lost sheep.

At that time, Trejo's music was a source of conviction for T-Strike, striking a chord in his heart while he was caught up in a double lifestyle that contradicted his faith. Byann Trejo's song: "Can I Preach?" a song that once convicted him became the wake-up call he desperately needed. Through moments of reflection and revelation, he began to realize that he had strayed far from the values he once held dear and even found himself trying to smoke weed to feel comfortable in his sin because the Holy Spirit would not leave him alone. With a sober mind, he could feel his lifestyle grieving the Holy Spirit and one day he completely cried out to the Lord for help and deliverance from his addiction to weed. T-Strike realized that his addiction to weed and fornicating with woman was leading his life down a path he didn't want to go and no matter how much he tried in his own strength to quit, it was not enough to overcome the temptation. In a moment of pure desperation T-Strike for the first time cried out to God with a sincere prayer for help and he was delivered!

With humility and a renewed spirit, T-Strike reclaimed his faith in Jesus Christ, embracing his transformative power of grace. The road back wasn’t easy, but his desire to reconnect with God and his purpose fueled his journey. In a beautiful twist of fate, he and Bryann Trejo eventually reconciled, demonstrating the power of community and support in the path to redemption. Together they would even do Prison Ministry together and speak to inmates on Death Row! Their connection truly shows the importance of having accountability partners who genuinely care about your soul.
